Sauna: Setup & Support
Everything you need to set up, use and maintain your Thermox infrared sauna.
Important: infrared saunas produce no steam
Unlike traditional steam saunas, infrared saunas heat the body directly using infrared panels, not the air. The cabin remains dry throughout use. Do not add water to the panels or interior.
In the box
- Sauna panels (pre-assembled or flat-pack depending on model)
- Full-spectrum infrared heating panels
- Control panel
- Bench
- Power cable
- Assembly hardware and tools

Setup guide
Step 1: Choose your location
The sauna must be placed on a flat, level floor. It can be used indoors in a well-ventilated room or in a covered outdoor space. Do not expose to rain or direct moisture ingress. Allow 15cm clearance around all sides.
Step 2: Assembly
Follow the numbered panel assembly guide included in the box. Panels connect via interlocking tongue-and-groove joints and secure with the provided bolts. Two people are recommended for assembly. Allow 60 to 90 minutes.
Step 3: Connect power
The sauna plugs into a standard 13A UK socket. Do not use an extension lead. Ensure the socket is not shared with other high-draw appliances.
Step 4: Pre-heat and first use
Power on using the control panel and set to your target temperature. Preheat for 15 to 20 minutes before entering. The cabin will reach operating temperature within this window.
Recommended session protocol
- Preheat 15 to 20 minutes
- Session: 20 to 30 minutes at 50 to 60°C for recovery
- Hydrate before and after. 500ml minimum
- Do not use immediately after intense exercise. Allow 30 minutes recovery first
- For contrast therapy: cold plunge first, then sauna

Care and maintenance
Wipe down the interior bench and walls with a dry cloth after each session. The wood will darken slightly over time. This is normal. Do not use cleaning products, water or steam inside the cabin. Air out the cabin after each use by leaving the door open for 10 minutes.
Troubleshooting
Sauna not reaching target temperature
Ensure the door is fully closed. Check that all infrared panels are illuminated (visible red glow). In cold ambient conditions, pre-heat time may be longer. Allow 25 to 30 minutes.
Control panel unresponsive
Power cycle the unit. Switch off at the socket, wait 30 seconds, power back on. If the issue persists, contact support.
Wooden panels have small gaps or cracks
Minor expansion and contraction of wood panels is normal with heat cycling. Small surface cracks do not affect performance. Contact support if gaps are significant or structural.
